Lee Roy Selmon has a background that is a combination of family scholarships football with community service. His first family is that his father was the youngest of the nine children raised in Eufala by Lucious Selmon. Two football. He was one of the three brothers that played for Oklahoma. The three brothers all made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy received the Outland & Lombardi Awards for being the top lineman from the US. Over the course of three seasons, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy as the starter. Also, they won the national title twice. As a National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was given the opportunity to receive a scholarship in his third season in the year 1975. Selmon received a diploma in education. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer time per week throughout college. After graduation, he landed in Tampa and played for nine seasons with the Buccaneers were an all-pro three times before beginning his business career. By 1988, he became an Account Relation Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He also worked with the following organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. This is why the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated him as one of the 10 most notable young men in the country. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 7-foot-2. While he was in college, he was the captain of the 1975 team. In 1993, he was a part of his current position at University of South Florida as an associate director of athletics. He was named associate director of athletics by the College Football Hall of Fame recognized the player on the 28th of October, the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame In 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 awarded the Distinguished American Award to his parents, Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma was the person who presented the award.
